Dear Parents/Carers,
Following on from the success of our Young Voices trip to Birmingham this year, we have signed up for next year’s 30th anniversary extravaganza. We would love to be able to offer more children the opportunity to experience being part of a live performance and concert in an arena. It was an amazing day, full of fun, music and a real sense of community. Have a look on our Facebook page at the post in February to see what your child could experience.
To allow for more children to attend, we are going to run it slightly differently this time around and intend to go up and back in one day. We will share a coach with Starcross, who will also be attending. We will travel to Birmingham during the morning ready for a rehearsal at the BP Pulse Live Arena, before taking part in the concert during the evening. We will then travel back to Teignmouth afterwards.
This is the perfect trip for anyone who is a budding performer or enjoys singing. From September, I will be running a singing club for all children who would like to take part; there will be a commitment expectation to attend these, along with doing some learning at home as there are a lot of songs and dance moves to learn. Once we have numbers and names of children who would like to come, we will have a meeting where we will be able to fill you in on more of the details.
In order to be able to take part in this exciting music event, we will be charging £40 to cover the cost of the coach and a meal on the journey up; this will be able to be paid as part of a payment plan. Some of our parents bought tickets to come and watch their children and they loved the experience just as much as the children. If your child would like to be part of our Young Voices group, please sign up so that we can start to look at numbers for our visit. I have seen the list of songs for next year and there are some brilliant numbers that I can’t wait to start learning alongside the children.
Please complete the permission slip below asap if you wish your child to take part in this event.
Best wishes
Miss Sowden
