Welcome to
Teignmouth Primary School

Welcome to Teignmouth Primary School

We pride ourselves as being a school where children are happy, safe and love learning. We truly believe that the sky’s the limit for what our children can achieve.

Our rich and ambitious curriculum ensures that children are provided with an exciting and holistic education. All subjects are carefully sequenced so that pupils are continually challenged and supported in developing their wider academic understanding and experiences. Whether learning the ukulele in music or complex coding in computing, or achieving excellent outcomes in mathematics and English, our pupils are constantly inspired to enjoy the wide world of learning.

We believe in providing pupils with a rich and exciting experience at school. Every class (from Nursery to Year 6) has a dedicated weekly Outdoor Learning lesson with a specialist teacher, and our dedicated team are always designing lessons that bring lessons to life. Pupils enjoy a range of trips, visitors, residentials, and our own special ‘Quest Days’ that further enrich their time at Teignmouth Primary School.

Reading is central to our curriculum, and we believe whole-heartedly in its importance in unlocking a world of opportunities for our pupils. Our fantastic library and librarian ensure that pupils continue to develop the view that ‘reading is the best thing ever’ (Teignmouth Primary School OFSTED report, 2022).
Children are at the heart of everything we do. Our staff are passionate about building strong working relationships with pupils and families, and we offer excellent pastoral care. We are continually seeking to develop pupils’ character and develop them as well-rounded individuals- we teach pupils about this through our six green behaviours of resilience, independence, curiosity, respect, honesty and responsibility.

We are proud to be part of Ivy Education Trust, involving four other primary schools and three secondary sites, and we collaborate regularly in order to provide pupils with the best experiences possible.

I am incredibly proud of Teignmouth Primary School, and I would love the opportunity to show you all we have to offer.

Please contact us on 01626 772320 to arrange a visit. Our school opening hours are 8:45am to 3:15pm (registration at 9am).

Mr L Marchant
Head of School

Our school is working in partnership with the University of Exeter as an ITE Partner
