Dear Parent/ Carer,
A chess club will be starting for years 3, 4, 5 and 6 on Tuesday 4th November. The club will be every Tuesday after half term from 3.25-4.25 p.m. in Mr Paine’s room. It will not run in the final week before Christmas. Your child will need no equipment.
Chess club will cater for all levels. Beginners will be carefully taught what each piece does. However, we would also love experienced chess players and will make sure they get plenty of full games. It is hoped that all children will be playing chess with a full board by the final session, which will be on Tuesday 9th December. Any children who want to practise ahead of the club, get yourselves on Duolingo – they now have a chess programme!
To attend the club, your child needs to return the permission slip below as soon as possible. There are limited places available and they will be given on a first-come first-served basis. We will confirm your child has a place in the club before it begins.
