Today we were visited by two members of the RNLI- Sean and Steve.
We have begun talking about our brand new topic ‘Our Heroes’ and the children were very excited to meet two local heroes.
Sean showed us the uniform and equipment that they use- helmets, dry suit, bear suit and a life jacket.
The children loved trying the different pieces of uniform on and were intrigued to learn about why each piece is worn.
Steve then talked to the children about beach safety and how to recognise when it is unsafe to be in the water.
We looked at the different flags that might be used and what they mean. The children then made beautiful water safety posters this afternoon to raise awareness.
