About Reception
In our Reception class, the children take part in daily communication and language, mathematics and literacy lessons. Throughout the day, children have the opportunity to develop their own ideas through thoughtfully resourced continuous and enhanced provision. Our young learners are supported to develop confidence, independence and a thirst for learning.
Our topic for this half term is ‘There’s a Commotion in the Ocean.’ We will be diving under the sea to meet some of the creatures who live there. The children will find out about the seaside in the past and compare it to the present day. They will also be finding out about floating and sinking and engaging in lots of non-fiction books.
Outdoor Learning: Wednesday afternoons
PE:
- Monday afternoons with Mrs Emery (ball skills – normal school uniform)
- Friday afternoons with Mrs Wilde (dance & gymnastics – come to school in PE clothes.
