Oak (Year 6)

Oak Class

Welcome to Oak Class

Year group:                Six

Teacher:                    Miss Sowden

Teaching Assistant:   Mrs Thomas & Mrs Corbett

Reading:  The children should be reading a range of books regularly at home and filling in their reading diaries when they do so.  They will also have regular opportunities in school to read and quiz using our AR programme.  They will then change their own books and record any quizzes in their reading diaries.  We expect them to have both their reading book and reading diary in school each day, but they will be reviewed by the class teacher during our class library time on a Friday.

Home Learning:   Along with their reading, the children should be using the Times Tables Rock Stars app or website at home for 10 minutes, 4 times a week to build their fluency of multiplication and division facts. They each have their own account and log-in details.

P.E.:   They will have their P.E. lesson on a Thursday. They should wear their P.E. kits into school on that day.

Outdoor Learning:  Their Outdoor Learning lesson will be on a Thursday afternoon. Please ensure they bring their kits in to school ready to change into.

Our Learning:  This year, we are on map A. Check out the curriculum overview below to see the exciting topics we will be covering this year.
