PSHE and RSE

PSHE at Teignmouth Primary School

At Teignmouth Primary School, PSHE is at the core of what we do and enables our children to become independent, confident, healthy and responsible members of society, as well as developing the “whole child” intellectually, morally, socially and spiritually. It tackles many of the moral, social and cultural issues that are part of growing up. We provide our children with opportunities for them to learn about rights and responsibilities and appreciate what it means to be a member of a diverse society. Our children are encouraged to develop their sense of self-worth by playing a positive role in contributing to school life and the wider community. PSHE is taught across the school from Nursery – Year 6 and as a school, we follow the SCARF scheme. Our PSHE curriculum equips children with relevant and meaningful content, which is supported through a strong emphasis on emotional literacy, building resilience and nurturing mental and physical health. Weaving through the heart of our PSHE teaching, is a commitment to enhancing and promoting our Green Behaviours of Independence, Resilience, Respect, Curiosity, Honesty and Responsibility.

Teamwork is an essential part of school life.

The children have been learning about feelings and worries and how to talk about their emotions.
