YEAR 3 SWIMMING LESSONS

Home Forms YEAR 3 SWIMMING LESSONS

Willow Year 3 Swimming lessons

Dear parents and carers,

We are pleased to announce that we will be offering swimming lessons for this half-term for Year 3.

We have partnered with our fellow Ivy Education Trust school, Starcross Primary, to deliver the lessons. This means that we are able to offer these for no cost to parents.

Please read through the following information before completing the form below

How will the lessons be delivered?

Our swimming sessions will be taught by two external level 2 qualified swimming teachers and the children will be accompanied at the pool by a member of staff at all times. Due to the pool size, we will be teaching pupils in several groups. When not in session, pupils will have other activities on the Starcross school site.

The pool is heated and is 28 degrees currently. It is only 1m deep.

What does my child need?

Your child should come to school wearing their swimming costume or trunks underneath their uniform. Please remember to send in underwear and a towel. All jewellery must be removed and long hair must be tied back.

In addition, the following items are optional: swimming hats, goggles, shorty wetsuits.

When will this happen?

The swimming will take place over 4 Wednesday mornings: 17th, 24th September, and 8th and 15th October.

Of course, if weather makes it unsafe or unfeasible to administer the lessons, these will be postponed.

Thank you for your support. We hope that the children find the swimming sessions enjoyable.

All the best,

Luke Marchant

Headteacher
