Dear Parents and Carers,
It is with great pleasure to inform all the parents and carers of pupils at Teignmouth Community School Mill Lane, that following a competitive recruitment campaign Annabelle Thomas has been appointed as the full time Headteacher for the school.
Mill Lane had been operating with a slightly different senior management structure with key responsibilities shared between Annabelle Thomas as the Head of School and Katy Quinn as Principal of Mill Lane. This has been replaced with a single Headteacher role for Mill Lane, while Katy remains in her role as Chief Executive Officer for the Osprey Learning Trust of which Mill Lane is a part.
A wide range of local governors, trustees, and the headteachers from other schools in the osprey learning trust evaluated an excellent field of candidates, to provide a good diversity of opinion on the best possible candidate to serve the children and families of Mill Lane and our community.
In this challenging time as we emerge from a global pandemic it is more important than ever that all children are able to come to school feeling safe, welcomed, and cared-for, and whatever their background or educational needs they leave the school inspired and empowered to achieve to the best of their abilities and ambition. We all look forward to supporting Annabelle in her expanded role to take on the challenges and realise the opportunities of the school in the coming years.
