Dear Parents and Carers,
I am writing to update you with reference to our school website and parent app. I hope that you are enjoying seeing your children’s learning and the new content that we have uploaded about our school. The website has been designed to allow parents/carers to access school news and information easily and improve parental communication quickly and reliably. I am sure you will all agree what an improvement they are compared to our previous website.
Parent App
The school app for Mill Lane will keep you updated with the very latest school news and important dates. The app is available from both the App store (Apple products) and the Google Play store (Android products).
Once downloaded, you will receive notifications of information that relates to the class your child/children are in, plus generic school information. If you do not have your username and password, then please see the school office for this.
How to download the app:
Step 1
Download the App from the App store or Google Play store
Please allow notifications.
Step 2
Select Teignmouth Primary from the list of schools and create an account.
Step 3
Enjoy receiving school news!
Having the website and app means that you will:
- Receive letters more reliably and promptly
- Get a short app message if we need to contact you urgently (school closure, child’s illness etc)
- Not need to rely on your child for delivery
We can:
- Send more letters and information
- Save money on admin time, printing and paper
- Contact you urgently when necessary
As of Friday 27th March, all communication will be via the app and we will be paperless! Therefore, if you haven’t downloaded it, the countdown is 3 and a half weeks! All letters, medical forms, signing up to trips and clubs etc will be through the app. To support you with this process, we will be providing support sessions on Monday mornings if you would like it between now and the Easter holiday. Please drop into the school office from 8.45am to see Mr Webber who will assist you with this, or on review day with Mr Ball.
On a different note, we will not be having a parent forum this half term due to it being so short and having no actions from the previous forum. We will have an extended one in the summer term though as we have some exciting changes coming up to share with you. A date for these will be posted in advance. We have tried to do a mixture of in school time and out of school time to meet all of your needs, and we hope to see as many of you at these as possible to help shape our school to be the best that it can be.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Thomas
Head of school
