Children from Teignmouth Community School Mill Lane have joined the rest of the nation in remembering and honouring those who sacrificed themselves to protect our freedom during World War I during its centenary anniversary.
Each child across our school handmade a poppy to create a beautiful Remembrance display that sits proudly in our Reception area. The sound of a bugle playing the ‘Last Post’ on Thursday afternoon to Key Stage 2 children echoed across the school. During our whole school assembly on Friday, children from Year 6 had written beautiful poems that were read out to the rest of the school before we observed a minute silence to remember the bravery of those impacted by conflict. A humbling experience for all.
