Today, to celebrate World Book Day, the children and staff were invited to come in dressed up as a word and they did not disappoint. We had wonderful words such monochromatic, love, archaic, palaeontologist, musical, colourful, despicable, lethal, clumsy, perplexed, discombobulated, shiny, sparkly, royal, Christmas and so many more.
Every class enjoyed the beautiful story, The Word Collector by Peter H. Reynolds and took part in activities to celebrate words like writing their favourite ones around the playground. Everyone took part in a Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) session and enjoyed books and stories together.
There was such a wonderful atmosphere around school and it was a pleasure hearing everyone sharing such wonderful words with each other.
