The children in year 2 have been visited by the local Fire Safety Education Officers from Devon Fire Service. They spoke to us about how to make a 999 call and what information we would need to share with the telephone operator.
The children explored the safety clothing firemen wear and why they need this to keep them safe when working in fires.
Fires are caused by lots of different things around our homes, and we explored how to keep ourselves safe. We talked about how important it is to test your fire alarm regularly as well.
STOP DROP ROLL
The children have been taught how to protect themselves if their body or clothes caught fire.
The fire service sent the children home with a fire safety booklet to share what they have learnt from the session.
