Landscapes and Seascapes Trust Music Event

Newton Abbot College Thursday 21^st March

Dear Parents/Carers,

Pupils across the Trust have worked with two talented musicians, who have toured the schools within Ivy, to write a musical piece together based on the view from their own school. The skills of composition and performance are encapsulated in this wonderful project, where pupils have explored their school and its place within the locality.

The children who have participated in the project will be gathering in the Daphne Collman Auditorium on Thursday 21^st March to rehearse and then perform to parents. There will be two performances – one at 4:00pm and a second one at 6:00pm. As the event involves a large number of pupils, we are inviting parents to attend one of these events. Pupils will be performing at both and are required to stay for the second performance. They will wear their smart school uniform.

We will travel to Newton Abbot by coach for a rehearsal at 1:00pm. There will be a break at 3pm before the performance starts at 4pm. We will aim to have an early lunch at school before heading off for the rehearsal. The children can then eat their packed food just before the performances begin.

Each performer has been allocated 2 seats and parents/carers can arrive from 3:45pm onwards for the first performance and 5:45pm for the second. The final performance will finish at 7:00pm and parents/carers can collect their child at this time from the Daphne Collman Auditorium, which is on the Exeter Road site. Parking is limited, so please do arrive in plenty of time to find a suitable space in the locality of the college.

Ivy Education Trust value these fantastic experiences for the pupils and will fund the cost of the coaches for each school. The pupils have worked incredibly hard, and we are looking forward to celebrating their achievements at this special event.
