Reception News: May 2019 update

20th May 2019Andrew Webber

This week in Reception, the children have been finding and recording rhyming strings. They have been playing “Vets and Pets” and writing lists of animal facts. 20th May 2019Andrew Webber

WALT: write instructions on how to make a chocolate pizza Today we were visited by Truly Scrumptious – Ali. She taught us how to make our very own tempered chocolate pizzas. We each made our own pizza box and lined this with greaseproof paper. Ali then offered the children white, milk or dark chocolate for…

I was right, and we all had…

We saw that nearly all the trees have lots of leaves now (although a few still don’t) and that lots of other things have grown too. There are more plants (bushes, flowers, nettles, weeds) growing everywhere…

This week we have had a focus on science.  We carried out an investigation to find out how many paperclips different magnets would pick up. Here we are at the beginning of the week exploring the classroom to find magnetic objects.

This half term we have been learning about the Aztecs and Mayans. We looked into human sacrifices and made some ceremonial masks and rattles. We even wrote a descriptive paragraph about what happens during a sacrifice!
