Today we had an assembly led by lifeguards from the RNLI. They gave us lots of advice and information about how to stay safe in the sun, at the beach and in the water.

This week in Reception, the children have been finding and recording rhyming strings. They have been playing “Vets and Pets” and writing lists of animal facts. In maths, they have been exploring simple addition and subtraction; one group used a board game to add and subtract bricks to build towers.

Year 2 Mrs Sandercock. We worked in the Outdoor Learning area this week. Some of use made dens, some made daisy chains, and some worked in the bark kitchen. We enjoyed the Spring Weather!

Year 1 Miss Powley We went to the woods to see how they have changed since we last visited. We saw that nearly all the trees have lots of leaves now (although a few still don’t) and that lots of other things have grown too. This week we have had a focus on science.  We carried out an investigation to find out how many paperclips different magnets would pick up. Here we are at the beginning of the week exploring the classroom to find magnetic objects.

This half term we have been learning about the Aztecs and Mayans. We looked into human sacrifices and made some ceremonial masks and rattles. We even wrote a descriptive paragraph about what happens during a sacrifice!
